Contemporary Kahuna Style Training
To acknowledge our body as being the vehicle or container of our spirit is to acknowledge the body as the performer of the relationship we have with ourselves and with the universe.
To change our performance in this life is made possible by changing the motion of our body, getting deeply within, beyond blood, muscle and skeleton, touching into the core where our vibrational frequency is clear and consistent.
Ko Maka – primary, intermediate and evolutionary instruction.
Ko Maka is a fusion of yoga, Kahuna Ka’alele au, Kahiko (ancient) hula and martial arts principles.
Ko Maka combines the strength of yoga, the flowing expression of hula and the speed and focus of martial arts to ignite body awareness and connection to breath.
To move into rhythm with your body is to move in rhythm with your spirit.
Mohala – floor bodywork.
Mohala is a floor bodywork designed to soften and open the body through leverage generated pressing, rocking and stretching.
Students are taught to use the weight of their body with martial arts inspired focus and motion.
Mohala works by opening the skeleton frame, relaxing the muscles and expanding range of motion by gently but firmly pressing, rocking and stretching, bringing flexibility to the body, improving circulation and balancing chi.
The four principles used in Mohala, like all other principles in Kahuna sciences modules, are mediums used to expand the students understanding of themselves through the compassionate acknowledgement of their body and the corresponding effect that has on their mind and spirit.
