Kawai Purapura offers a unique opportunity to live in an environmentally sustainable way with like-minded people on a stunning 19-acre property of bush and streams. It is only 15 minutes from Auckland City and a stroll to Westfield Albany and Massey University. We currently have around 90 residents in the village, including a rich and diverse community of natural therapy students, practitioners, artists, musicians and environmentalists. Kawai Purapura is a holistic residential village and retreat centre for those who wish to make a commitment to natural health and healing, sustainable living, spirituality, service and education. Many of our residents also have an interest in the creative arts (music, painting and poetry).
There are a variety of accommodation options available to choose from such as houses, cottages, secluded sleep-outs and double and single rooms, using shared kitchen and shower facilities. All are set in a beautiful valley with a bush outlook.

Although it is primarily a vegetarian community, there is a dedicated non-vegetarian kitchen.
Community Education Weekly Programmes
Yet another way to experience Kawai Purapura is our weekly community programmes. Enrich your life with a range of activities including Astanga, Kundalini and General Yoga, World Choir, dance and art classes, all of which are on offer throughout the week. Residents and WWOOFers can enjoy gold coin admission to these programmes and the public are warmly welcomed with a suggested koha (donation) of $10.00. Please check the onsite bulletin board or contact reception to confirm existing schedules.
